The Farm & Talisker on Main earn Salt Lake Magazine dining awards
(PARK CITY, UTAH " For Immediate Release) " Talisker Corporation Executive Chef John Murcko, who oversees more than two dozen dining venues in one of America's premier four-season destinations, today was named a semifinalist for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards, honoring excellence among culinary professionals.
On the same day that Murcko celebrated his 43rd birthday, two of his signature restaurants, Talisker on Main and The Farm at Canyons also received top honors in the Salt Lake Magazine 2012 Dining Awards.
For the second consecutive year, Talisker on Main was named "Best Restaurant in Park City." The magazine singled out Murcko for "reinventing" Park City as a dining destination, after he helped invent it over the past 20 years. Chef Briar Handly is also credited for keeping up "the quality since Murcko moved on to other kitchens in the giant resort."
Not content to rest on his laurels, Murcko opened The Farm one year ago as part of the Canyons' ambitious resort enhancement project. One of nearly a dozen new dining venues at Canyons, The Farm was selected by Salt Lake Magazine as the "Best New Restaurant in Utah." The magazine applauded The Farm for sourcing the majority of its ingredients from within 200 miles of Park City.

Talisker dining venues range from private dining rooms to two new signature restaurants that opened in December. Slopes by Talisker, located inside the iconic Waldorf Astoria Park City, features an innovative menu that incorporates the healthy "living well" mantra of the adjacent Waldorf Astoria Spa, Park City. Bistro at Canyons opened to rave reviews just before the December holidays, serving gourmet "Modern American" cuisine in a Parisian-style intimate dining room.
The James Beard Foundation Awards will announce five finalists in each of 20 categories on March 19. Winners will be announced May 7th.
