7/3/2013 - 7/3/2013

July 3, 2013. Are you ready to start your Independence Day one day early? If so, then head over to Canyons for our annual bash! We are pleased to announced a grander July 3rd Celebration in partnership with People's Health Clinic, the community-supported, volunteer-driven medical clinic that serves Wasatch and Summit counties. The annual Celebration festivities will kick off at 3:00pm, when the grassy area opens for guests in front of the Mountain Stage at Ski Beach. Free family-oriented music and activities throughout the Resort Village will commence at 3:00pm, including a bicycle parade, carnival games, face-painting, multiple food and beverage outlets and more. DJ Velvet will begin spinning tunes on the Mountain Stage at 5:00pm, The Soulistics will perform at 7:30pm and the massive fireworks display is set to go off at approximately 9:30pm.

Please note: To help accommodate the largest crowd of the summer, Canyons is collecting $5 per car in the Cabriolet lot.  Cash (preferred) and credit cards accepted. All net proceeds from parking will be donated to People's Health Clinic.

We kindly remind guests that dogs (with the exception of service dogs) are not allowed in the concert venue. Blankets, picnics and chairs are allowed starting at 3:00pm. Low back chairs are allowed, but camping chairs, chairs with sharp legs and chairs with greater height than 9" are not allowed. Chairs meeting the height requirements are available for purchase at Canyon Mountain Sports. The July 3rd Celebration is FREE and open to the public. The Cabriolet lift and Waldorf gondola will be open. And, why not make a weekend out of it? Click here to find out more about our special Lodging Packages.

SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE: CANYONS RESORT DRIVE & LOWER VILLAGE ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Please pardon the dust as Summit County and Canyons Resort continue to enhance the overall experience for its guests.  While we understand that this new project may cause some challenges here in the short term, the overall completion of the round-about and other enhancements will significantly upgrade our existing infrastructure.

Summit County is preparing to begin the construction of the Lower Village Road which will connect Canyons Resort Drive to White Pine Canyon Road, and construct a new round-about intersection at Lower Village Road and Canyons Resort Drive. The project will begin on or about June 1, 2013.  The project is scheduled to be completed by the first part of October.

The new Lower Village Road within the project limits will be closed to all traffic until complete. Canyons Resort Drive will remain open at all times, however the road may be reduced to one-way traffic through the new round-about intersection during working hours. An alternative access to the Cabriolet parking lot for the Farmers' Market and other events will be provided through the Bus Loop around the 7-11 convenience store.  Detours and access signs will be posted. White Pine Canyon Road will also remain open at all times, however the road may be reduced to one-way traffic through the new intersection during working hours.

We would appreciate your patience during the construction of this project. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this proposed project, please contact Derrick Radke, Summit County Engineer at 435.615.3293, or by email to: dradke@summitcounty.org, or the Engineering Department at 435.615.3250.
